Mission Creek Technologies is the result of several efforts:

  • Mission Computing
  • Mission Creek Systems
  • Mark Edelman's Consulting

After working in the semiconductor industry for 10+ years, specifying, developing, and supporting software tools in support the the chip design process, I decided it was time to find a new outlet for my creative energies.

The original efforts lead to  the creation of Mission Computing. This was a partnership between myself and Chetan Patil.  Our one significant developement was "Smart Cradle", an ethernet network interface for the Palm Computing family of handheld computers. We had a fully functional prototype (I still have it somewhere in the garage).  As it turns out, it was too expensive to produce compared to the price that it would have been able to sell.  It was a lot of fun, but an expensive experience.

Mission Computing ended. Mission Creek Systems was born from the ashes with the addition of Jed Krohnfeldt. We set to work on a new project "Voice Graffiti". This project was a lot of fun.  We developed a combination of hardware and software that provided a voice user interface for the Palm Computing family of handheld computers (see a trend here ;-)).

Again, we had a working prototype.  You could talk to "palm" (not quite the same as talk to the hand, but oh well ...). It responded to voice commands.  We demonstrated it to several product companies, but unfortunately, our timing was bad, and the entire market for expensive toys took a dive.  Voice Graffiti died; another working prototype in my garage.

The domain and website are all that remain (and the prototypes in my garage ...)

Now they serve as my "sandbox".
