The 2009 FIRST Robotics Competition season began January 3rd with the official unveiling of this year's game, "Lunacy". Teams are hard at work preparing their machines for competition.

In the Northern California Area, there are two tournaments, the Silicon Valley Regional and  the Sacramento/Davis Regional.

The Silicon Valley Regional will be held March 12th through 14th at San Jose State University in the Event Center.

The Sacramento/Davis Regional will be held March 26th through 28th at UC Davis in The ARC (Athletics and Recreation Center)
